"The manuscript underwent review by the Editors, who regrettably were unable to consider it further. In keeping with its focus on pathogenesis, AJP typically does not publish descriptions of animal models per se. Rather, it seeks investigations in which the model is used to gain insights into mechanisms of disease. If you extend your studies to include ones that address mechanism, they would better align with the Journal's scope, and we would welcome your submitting them."
